High port charges in Nigeria’s seaports have continued to frustrate the ease of doing business in the country.
Participants highlighted this point at a maritime industry summit convened by the Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria
Speakers at the forum underscored the importance of a workable action plan that will effectively tackle recurring issues that have made the nation’s ports uncompetitive.
They noted that severe infrastructural decay, poor transport system, multiple agencies of government in the ports and poor regulatory capacity have contributed immensely to the problem of high port charges.
