Since the announcement earlier in the year that Nigeria’s Super Eagles would be playing the English national team in a friendly match on June 2nd, football fans across the world have been waiting with
bated breath, anticipating the tantalising fixture, which is to be played at the Wembley Stadium in London. The match offers both countries a Grade A contest to prepare their teams ahead of Russia. Back in February, when the football season was very much in full swing, Nigerian soccer fans were greeted to the exciting news of a multi-year partnership between the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and Star lager beer, making the iconic Nigerian beer brand an official sponsor of the Super Eagles team.
